Farsight Africa Group is seeking to recruit a highly-skilled Regional Operations Manager for its Somalia Operations.

The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the Organizations` strategy in Somalia in areas of Research, Media and advisory to manage all operational aspects and strengthen accountability initiatives. She will be responsible for the overall management of the Somalia Office program and ensure the requisite systems and structures are in place and well-functioning.
The regional operations manager will have the ability to build the capacity to achieve Farsight Africa Group strategic objectives; whilst proactively managing relationships with external stakeholders, including Multinational donors, FGS, civil society partners and the private sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic development and implementation
ï‚· Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and review of the Farsight Africa Group Somalia projects in line with the overall organizational strategic plan while ensuring relevance in the rapidly changing environment.
ï‚· Oversee and lead the strategic development and implementation of all programs in a timely and professional manner.
ï‚· Work with regional Kenya office to ensure that all regional offices; operational policies, including security, procurement, inventory, and administration are in place, compliant with project and client policies, and implemented effectively.
ï‚· Ensure that project operations are in line with one another, liaising regularly with Operations Manager in Nairobi.
ï‚· Assist in the review of the regional office operational budget and strategic plans.

Programs /Projects Management
ï‚· Ensure that systems and processes are in place for participatory monitoring and evaluating
activities, results and impact assessment while involving the team and partners.
ï‚· Oversee and coordinate the Somalia Projects and portfolio to ensure the highest level of
project quality and accountability, while fostering continuity through building local capacity
and development.
ï‚· Ensure all project activities are sensitive to and responsive to changes in the political, social and
economic environments.
ï‚· Conducts periodic field visits to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's
projects.

Representation
ï‚· Represent the organization and be responsible for the management of relationships and
interests in dealing with the government, international and local organizations` networks both
in private and nonprofit sector, community and peer institutions.
ï‚· Represent the organization in strategic meetings, conferences, community forums, events, and
activities that of interest to the organization
ï‚· Develop and strengthen the working relationship with the community, local organizations and
forge alliances with strategic partners for the mutual collaboration and common good of the
organization.
ï‚· Promote the organization identity and capacity to all stakeholders and partners so as to ensure
that the program and project objectives are achieved.
ï‚· Develop networks and partnerships with national/regional/international institutions in
Somalia and spearhead donor collaboration, fundraising and project development.
ï‚· Facilitate donor visits, donor meetings, and discussions and provide adequate and relevant
information that promote donor funding.

Financial management
ï‚· Provide oversight to all finance and administrative operations for the Somalia Office and ensure
that all financial policies and procedure are propriety maintained and followed
ï‚· Ensure effective implementation and compliance with the overall finance and grant
requirements as required from the clients.
ï‚· Ensure that the control of expenditure and the disbursement of resources is in accordance
with established procedures and maintain the financial and legal integrity of the
organization.
ï‚· Ensure that adequate internal control mechanisms are in place for budget monitoring and
review and to minimize significant project expenditure variance.
ï‚· Check and verify all inventories and promote efficient management of organizational assets.
ï‚· Ensures all financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded, have adequate supporting
documentation, filled, maintained, and can be extracted with ease for preparing financial
statements and during an audit.
ï‚· Prepares and crosscheck Cost Estimates and submit to Nairobi for approval and ensure that all
Procurement processes and expenditures of the company are in accordance with the company`s
procedures.
ï‚· Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. vendors, consultants, and
bankers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSEducation:**
A Master`s degree in preferably in Business administration, Project management social science or other relevant related field is required.

A minimum of 5-9 years of experience that combines strategic and managerial leadership in social development, business development, executive management and/or programme management planning and operations in a large international and/or corporate organization.

Experience in hardship or post conflict environments like Somalia is desirable.

Should be fluent in both English and Somali is a Must.
